Strengths

Quality System (ISO 9001:2000) - Item is certified to the standard, but unlike many companies, Item takes it seriously. Item is very committed to continuous improvement at the highest level: Item has launched a Six Sigma process improvement program, championed by the Managing Director and managed by the Quality Manager, a Six Sigma Black Belt. Item believes they have an extremely robust quality system.

Social Accountability - Item is committed to working in the Pearl River Delta (PRD), and to raising the quality of life for its workers. Item has taken the lead among companies in the PRD to implement a meaningful worker protection (SA 8000) program. Item has invested in solar heating for its dormitories, raised the quality of the dormitory rooms, and invested in more attractive canteen facilities.

Environmentally Conscious (ISO14000/EPA) - Item is an environmentally conscious company, and is working toward ISO 14000 certification. Beyond mere certification, Item is working on a multi-year strategy to make it as close to a cradle-to-cradle company as is possible in the PRD.
