Strengths

Company Wide Training Program - Item has become a learning organization; training and education form integral parts of its annual budget planning exercise. Each employee receives more than 50 hours of training per year. Each employee and manager’s job description is reviewed annually to establish training needs for the next year. These training requirements are rolled up into a company-wide training plan, which is integrated into Item’s annual budget exercise.

Continuous Improvement Culture - As described above, we approach our quality/management system proactively. We have launched a Six Sigma process improvement program, which by the end of 2005 will have resulted in every core and support process being optimized, and in some cases, redesigned to make bring it to world-class standards.

Well-Equipped Manufacturing Facilities - Item is a well-established manufacturing company. It has both old and new equipment. It has comprehensive service, maintenance and calibration programs to ensure that all its equipment is performing within established process limits, all the time. Item constantly invests in new equipment, both expand its core capabilities, and to meet the special needs of its customers.

Comprehensive Testing Equipment - This year Item has invested significantly in upgrading its Quality Engineering Laboratory. This has brought many test and validation requirements in-house, enabling us to meet our customers’ needs more rapidly, with known accuracy, and usually at lower cost.
