Item is an environmentally conscious company, and is accredited to ISO 14000. In 2007, Item was also awarded a Certificate of Merit of the Hong Kong Eco-Business Awards by the Environmental Campaign Committee for Green SMEs in recognition of its contribution to environmental protection in the industry. In 2008, Item obtained the green medal in the "One Factory-One Year-One Environmental Project" (One-One-One) Programme organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries by implementing energy conservation projects to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Beyond mere certification, Item is working on a strategy to make it as close to a green cradle-to-cradle company as is possible in the Pearl River Delta.

Item is committed to a program of recycling reusable materials, reducing harmful gas emissions, conservation and increasing the use of renewable energy from its manufacturing processes. ITEM also educates its employees and customers about climate change and enhances their awareness of human and environmental health by outreach activities. Regular rigorous internal audits are conducted to ensure the company remains committed to the environmental policy.
